Year 4 have erected the hazel fence around the Anglo-Saxon long-house!
Hazel coppiced by Year 4 children was used and children learnt how to weave the poles to make a sturdy fence that could easily prevent sheep or even a goat from escaping.
Many thanks to Rory and Mark for all of their help!
Here are some pictures:
As part of our inquiry into the way Anglo-Saxons lived, Year 4 visited a coppice woodland to cut some hazel poles for the fence to be built around the Anglo-Saxon Long-house. The woodland is located on Sea Mere Farm and we were lucky enough to observe and assist traditional woodland management and get to see some woodland wildlife.
West Earlham Junior joined in with lots of number-related activities as part of the NSPCC number day . Here are some of the children from 4SP having number fun!
Mr Phillips’ favourite number is 78, can anyone guess why? Torri, you might want to ask Dave to help?
Emily, the best ever dance teacher, taught 4SP the most amazing dance routine for the Open Venue dance show.
During the dance show, we performed two practise routines and two performances and it was epic! However, we were a bit nervous but very proud to be representing West Earlham Junior School.
4Sp will be taking part in Safer Internet Day; promoting safe and responsible use of the internet.
